REW 2022 Garrett's Block Merlot

Hand-harvested from just six select rows of our Heron Pond Benchland Vineyard on October 14 at 23.5° Brix, then naturally dried for 80 days in our custom Appassimento chamber, reaching 29° Brix with 32% weight loss. After three weeks of fermentation, the wine aged 28 months in French oak barrels, 50% new. Aromas of dried blueberry, cherry compote, fig and savoury spice lead to blueberry jam and prune, with smoky oak, vanilla and caramel on a dense, richly textured palate
